Sometimes, one unique item in a central area in the house is enough to create the “wow” factor. Here it is the sculpted staircase made of Oak situated across from the main entry door.
In the heart of the forests of the Liguria region, above the picturesque village of Pieve Di Teco, a centuries-old ruin was purchased. Months of construction over three years yielded a house that became a picturesque residential estate. Adjacent to it, hidden among the forest trees, two additional guest rooms were built.
As one of the major elements in the house, the stairs are often located in front of the entrance. Therefore, beyond proper planning, ratios and slopes, I like to create stairs that become a sculptural feature in the heart of the house, an impressive piece of furniture that captures every heart and mind.
